Ingredients: 90 proof alcohol, Feverfew Leaves*, Meadowsweet*, White Willow Bark*, Passionflower*, California Poppy*
Feverfew: This herb has been used to prevent and treat migraine headaches and this is the only application of this herb that has been scientifically confirmed. It has also been used for fevers, menstrual cramps, arthritis and indigestion.
White Willow Bark: This plant contains salicylic acid and is known for pain relief. White willow is one of the plants from which aspirin was developed after the isolation of this active ingredient. It is, however, a much more complicated action when used as a whole herb. Willow bark also cools heat, inflammation and irritation. It drains and dries fluid build up and swelling and inhibits COX-2 (an enzyme responsible for inflammation and pain). Additionally it is used for rheumatoid arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis.
Meadowsweet: Just as with Willow Bark meadowsweet also contains salicylic acid and is the other herb said to have been used to develop aspirin. Meadowsweet, however is also soothing and gentle on the stomach. This herb is cooling and promotes circulation. It is especially good for stagnant, pounding pain.
Passionflower: Anti-spasmodic, hypnotic and mildly sedating, passionflower has been used for headache, menstrual pain, nerve pain, hyperactivity and restlessness. It is considered a generally safe herb for all ages.
California Poppy: Anti-spasmodic, analgesic, mildly sedating and anxiolytic, California poppy is used for migraine, stress, anxiety, nerve pain and spasms of the stomach and muscles.
